I'M SPENT!

I'm utterly spent...emotionally, physically, mentally spent and it's all because of 1 woman....CYNTHIA EDEN!! I just had the pleasure, no the honor of reading her latest release...MINE TO KEEP; second in the "MINE" series. I was gifted the copy by NetGalley...one of my favorite "dealers" in my world of book addiction. I opened the my e-reader already excited and in love with the characters that had won me over in the first volume of the series "MINE TO TAKE", but nothing and I mean nothing could prepare me for the ride that she created in this story.

We once again find Skye and Trace; childhood loves that have just survived a brutal attack by her ex-lover, still reeling and still trying to fight their way through all the hurt and lies. Lies that were created out of love, loyalty and a mistaken sense of pride and fear. We are given a look into the who and the what that make Trace into a man who needs, creates and maintains total control. It's the secrets behind all that that bring the danger to their doorstep this time.

It's a story of love and how much real, solid deep love can take before it crumbles...if it ever does. The author gives us an up close glimpse into what fear does to people, how it forms them and their everyday decisions...good and bad. The first chapter open and before I knew it a knot had formed in my stomach and I had a lump in my throat. I felt every prickle of fear, every surge of lust, but mostly I felt these 2 characters yearning; even through the darkness, to hold onto each other and the love that they have.

"MINE TO KEEP" is a fast paced thrill ride. By the end of the story I was weeping, sobbing and left shaking. Each page brought another turn, a new player to the game and upped the level of fear and danger. Cynthia Eden is a master at this. She completely immerses the reader and surrounds you in this world of super-sexy Alpha males, danger, secrets and lots and lots of lust. I absolutely loved this and can't wait for the next installment..."MINE TO HOLD".

It's absolute beauty...that's the best way to describe the experience of reading MINE TO KEEP. Just an amazing journey into a world that was beautifully crafted, filled to the brim with all the characters, details and emotions that can stand up to such a dangerous and sometimes dark story. It's a real gift to come across something like this. A writer who can pull you in completely and make you forget everything except what happens next. This is why I read, this is why I dream in another's world, this is why I'm still that girl sitting in the library or the bookstore diving into the next read.
